Another Triple Treat On The Horizon

Stargazers get your binoculars, telescopes, and roach clips out and get ready to dance under the moon.

Early Wednesday (Jan. 31) we welcome the return of the full moon for the second time this month, making this a blue moon.

Add to that, the moon will be at its closest orbit to Earth, making it 14% brighter.  And a total lunar eclipse will take center stage in the midst of all this lunar-lunacy, hence, giving us our Super-Duper-Full-Blue-Blood-Moon.

You will have to set the alarm for this one as it gets underway around 3am (Seattle time).  Our next lunar eclipse is a full year away, so don't miss it!

NASA.GOV will have it live on their website.
