Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi Helps Open a Cancer Care Unit

Cancer survivor Tony Iommi helped open a new cancer care wing at a hospital in his native England on Wednesday. The Black Sabbath guitarist was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2012 and, following treatment, has been in remission for four years.

According to loudersound.com Tony Iommi wasn't the only one to help out, Dame Julie Moore and Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Carl Ikeme also cut the ribbon on the £2.2 million ($3M USD) Oncology Day Unit at Solihull Hospital.  Iommi has also been named Patron of the Ward 19 charity, the cancer ward at the nearby Heartlands Hospital, where his friend was treated.
