Hi all,
Well, I have been a faithful KZOK listener since... before time I think, it was way back in 1978 when we moved back to Renton after being in Southern California for a couple years. I was a stoked surfer in those days and the tunes played on KZOK and I have been listening ever since. In fact all my car radios and home stereo systems have KZOK programmed into the #1 spot. I listen to Bob, Spike, Joe, Kaci, Arik and Mike every morning and love the morning show - best on the air anywhere!!
Today I am 46 with a beautiful and amazing wife, I am a dad with four kids (blended family), yellow lab Cosmo (he is named after my wife's world famous Cosmopolitan Martini), not so much a surfer but I do get out a skateboard with the kids on occasion. I am an aviation safety professional and a pilot and aviation enthusiast. Back when Kaci was going through her "fear of flying" I was able to get she and Arik a tour of the Boeing Renton production factory and a few hours flying the 747-400 full flight simulator. Kaci few that big bird like a pro! Not sure if she got over her fear of flying, but we had a good time in the simulator. I offered her to fly with me but she never took me up on it. Kaci, that offer is still open.
My fondest memory was back in 1988 when there was a call in contest to get two tickets on the KZOK opening day of boating season party boat. It was about 6:00 in the morning and I was at work. The D.J said, "the 10th caller will win." So I picked up the phone to be the 10th caller. I was the first caller, fourth caller, sixth caller and finally the tenth caller. I won two tickets on the party boat. A buddy and I went, we hooked up with a couple of lovely ladies on the boat, which added to the "fun". It was a clear and sunny day in the 80's and I got my face sunburned, but did not care. It happened to be on May 5th (Cinco De Mayo) and the after party was at what was Casa Lupita a Mexican joint in South Center. It was a long day and went way into the night. All can say is that a good time was had by all :-)
This picture is from the KZOK 2007 Halloween Cruise KZOK rocks, always has and I know always will!!
Cheers to all,
Andrew |
