 Hi KZOK,
I have been a loyal listener to your station since my husband and I moved here from Spokane in July of 1987, twenty years! As things go around, we are now preparing to return "home" to Spokane this July. I feel that I will be leaving a dear friend behind when we move because I've listened for so long. I've met most of the staff, except for Steve. I've always wanted to meet Steve, Mr Seattle Rock n Roll, but the opportunity has not ever presented itself.
Your prize department is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I have been the fortunate recipient of numerous concert tickets, money prizes, 3 @ 3, even being a backstage pass guest, but the topper for me was going on the Lunch with Led cruise 2005 (I won this from Gary's show), as I'm an utter Led head. It was unbelievable (the cruise). I also won Tom Petty tickets, which were upgraded to "Grand Prize Winner"(also 2005). We took our teenage sons to the Tom Petty concert at the Gorge and sat in the BOX SEATS, complete with VIP parking (GOLDEN!!) and a waitress that comes by to take your order!This was incredible. Believe it or not, this was the very first concert for either of our teenage sons and they got a taste of the delicious VIP treatment KZOK offers. A few years earlier I won tickets on Steve's show for another Tom Petty concert (May 2001) on the MAGIC BUS!!! That was, well, unless you've had the pleasure of being on the bus, then I'm not a liberty to discuss what happens on the bus-haha!Stacy was our hostess with the mostest, need I say more?? A Saturday doesn't go by that I'm not listening to Lunch with Led. It's practically the highlight of my week.
Your contests are a DAILY event for me. I listen all day at work, then when I get home. However, I wanted you to know that while the prizes you give are amazing, it's the MUSIC that holds me. I will NEVER EVER tire of hearing "Stairway to Heaven". Music affects me deeply, as it has memories attached to every song that I hear. It can transport me back into high school, or trigger a fond memory instantly. I hope I have been able to convey to you how much I appreciate your station. It has been a HUGE part of my life for the last 20 years. As far as moving back to Spokane, my silver lining is knowing that I can at least listen from a computer! I will miss you tremendously. Thank you for providing THE BEST CLASSIC ROCK in the world!
