My name is Karen.  I'm 54 years old, and grew up, and still live in the Seattle area.

 

I love KZOK radio. The music is truly a flash from the past!

 

I started out on the Beatles and the Stones........dancing to their "albums" at 5th grade slumber parties.

 

My girlfriend Susan and I hitch-hiked down the California coast right after high school graduation in 1971.  We spent 6 weeks on the road.  Although I don't recommend it now.........it was a lot different back in the "love/peace" days.  We are still friends, and laugh about our adventures!

 

Our guide book was "Steal This Book"  by Abby Hoffman.  Crazy times, looking back.

 

We both survived to tell the tale!

 

KZOK takes me back to the roots of my past.

 

There is still a lot of the rock n roll left in me.  Who are these new bands anyway????

 

Just bought a new copy of the Rolling Stone Magazine......."summer of love " issue.  Now THAT I can relate to!

You are awesome in keeping that part of my "spirit" alive.

 

I won the best Halloween costume prize at work this past October.........a day off with pay.

 

Customers didn't even recognize me.  My alter ego lives just below the surface. 

 

I have been happily married for nearly 20 years to a wonderful man . He was more into the Beachboys. and Barry Manilow........but I think I've got him pretty well trained!

 

We just spent the big bucks this past November for great seats at the "Stones" concert in Vancouver.

 

I do miss the smaller venues though.........like the old Coliseum, and the old Eagles Auditoreum......

 

Those were the days!
